About The Tangled Horn

Located at 275 E 8th Ave in the heart of Durango, Colorado, The Tangled Horn gives you much more than a typical meal out. This versatile neighborhood destination combines the relaxed appeal of a pub with the energy of a live music venue, while also serving as a welcoming restaurant, bar, and brunch spot. Whether you are planning a casual breakfast with friends, an afternoon drink, or a lively Saturday night, you can enjoy several experiences in one convenient location.

As soon as you step inside The Tangled Horn, you are greeted by a warm atmosphere that blends rustic Colorado character with modern, comfortable touches. The space feels casual enough for a spontaneous drink but polished enough for a date night or weekend gathering. When live music is scheduled, the room becomes more energetic, so you may prefer an earlier visit if you want a quieter dining experience.

The menu focuses on approachable American comfort food with options suited to both brunch and dinner. If you are visiting in the morning or early afternoon, the Bison Benedict is the standout recommendation. This signature brunch dish offers a distinctly Colorado-inspired alternative to a traditional eggs Benedict and has become a popular choice among returning guests. You can also choose familiar favorites such as avocado toast, fluffy pancakes, burgers, and generously filled sandwiches. These dishes make The Tangled Horn a practical option when your group has different tastes or appetites.

Fresh ingredients and thoughtful seasoning help elevate the food beyond standard pub fare. Locally sourced produce contributes brightness and flavor, while creative presentation makes each plate feel carefully prepared. For the best experience, consider pairing a hearty burger or sandwich with one of the craft beers available at the bar. Cocktail drinkers can explore the creative mixed-drink selection, which works especially well if you are staying for an evening performance.

Live music is a major part of The Tangled Horn experience. Local bands perform across a variety of genres, creating a social, community-focused atmosphere that appeals to both Durango residents and visitors. On performance nights, arriving early can help you secure a comfortable table and order before the venue becomes busy. Service is generally described as friendly and attentive, although you should allow extra time during popular brunch hours or live events.

Pricing is best suited to a casual mid-range outing, particularly when you combine a main dish with craft beer or cocktails. Overall, The Tangled Horn is a strong choice when you are searching for brunch in Durango, live music, American comfort food, or a relaxed local bar. You leave with more than a meal—you get a memorable taste of Durango’s food, music, and community culture.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 — Warman Hall
An absolutely great hole in the wall style joint with great food! A true hangout for locals. I had the Irish beef and barley stew. The portion was huge and tasted like heaven. The flavor brought back memories of Mama's Sunday roast and gravy - with an extra touch of Guinness. The wife also had and outstanding curry chicken dish!

Came in for soft opening and glad we did! Liquor license 10/5! The chicken sandwich and chicken curry were great. Back patio is lovely and there will be live music! Dog friendly. Excellent staff. Can’t wait for the grand opening!

Heard some good things about this place and have it a try, it did not disappoint we needed a good chicken sandwich back in town. The hush puppies were delicious down to the fries and the sauce. Everything was amazing and the crew is awesome. Will be coming back for some of that fried chicken.

A great place in Durango. The food was decent and was counter service. But they delivered it to your table. A good selection of beverages. We were there and they had a band playing. It was a nice dinner and time out.

I shared the fish and burger. Both were great. Honestly best burger in town. Very juicy, perfect portion. The fish was nice and light, not heavily battered. Paired well with the slaw and rosemary aioli. Highly recommend- great vibes.

The food is the best I’ve ever had in Durango. The cheesy mac with grilled chicken and the tangled burger is the best food I have ever had and I’m saying that with confidence. The vibe is amazing and the workers are. Loved the back patio fun to hang out in and kids are welcome. Best food I’ve ever had… ESPECIALLY THE MAC AND CHESSE!!!

Awesome new spot in town! The staff were friendly and accommodating. We tried almost everything on the menu and it was all super tasty. The back patio was a vibe and dog-friendly. Once they get their liquor license and have live music this will be the SPOT!
